The Admin Blotter - Modifications Added

http://www.securityforces.org/forum/index.php?autocom=blog&blogid=2&showentry=3

I've been adding some cool modifications to the overall structure of the site the past couple days. I've added an enhanced board stats plug-in to the portal page. Shows a little more info than the previous one. Also, added a new panel to the portal and forum views that includes some stats and info on the forums and member. If you have an avatar selected, it will also show your avatar in the very left box. Lastly, I've added a "Members Online Today" line in the board stats panel on the bottom. This lists all users who have visited during that day. As always, I'm up for constructive criticism and any recommendations anyone is willing to give to improve the site. Happy surfing!!!

The Admin Blotter - PHP Error Fixed

http://www.securityforces.org/forum/index.php?autocom=blog&blogid=2&showentry=4

I discovered an error in one of my PHP files today that was preventing new folks from registering! Thats not good. So, I did some troubleshooting and corrected the problem. Registration is back up and running (whew!). Also discovered a minor issue with category titles in the main forum index. Nothing big, just not doing what its supposed to when the forum category is clicked. I'm researching that issue now and hope to have it rectified soon. Happy surfing!

The Admin Blotter - Security Forces Museum Gallery Update

http://www.securityforces.org/forum/index.php?autocom=blog&blogid=2&showentry=2

Struggling with bandwidth issues here at Kirkuk but managed to transfer all the SF Museum images over from the Coppermine Photo Gallery to the Invision Power Gallery. CPG was the old open source software I was using to manage the media gallery. There is no conversion script out there to automatically import CPG data to IPG, so I had to download all the images and then upload them into the IP Gallery. The images may appear slightly grainy because these were photos I took myself. I was using a Sony 1.3 megapixel digital camera that used a floppy disk as memory (at the time, it was state of the art). If anyone has a photo that fits the category (i.e...early photos of Air Police vehicles, equipment, buildings, etc) please feel free to upload and add to it.

Tim Griggs' Blog - Back Online After An Unexpected Hiatus

Okay, so the site is back online with a whole new look. This is due to the conversion of the old software called SMF (Simple Machines Forum) to professional grade software called IPB (Invision Power Board). Instead of having three separate programs to host a forum, photo gallery, and downloads, I opted for the Community Suite that offers a slew of options and much more functionality.
